MATT TAYLOR reports back from the Nuremberg Toy Fair 2020.
The Nuremberg Toy Fair has come around again - all the major toy manufacturers in Europe congregate in Germany and show off their new items for the year.
Below are some pictures that I’ve taken at the show of items that I’ve found interesting.
Starting off with the Märklin myWorld range - we were able to see examples of the new Construction Site Station (MN72222) and Construction Site Train Starter Set. These items are sure to have a lot of play value for young modellers.
This pre-production model shows off the detail that you can expect on the upcoming Gauge 1 V320 Diesel (MN55320). A rather attractive Livestock Van (MN58945) is also on the way.
In the HO range we will see a nice SNCF BB9200 Locomotive (MN30380) and a 'Big Boy', a UP 4000 Locomotive (MN37997).
Continuing the construction theme is this G Scale Construction Site Starter Set (LGB78503).
Noch are releasing some very nice new trees this year, especially these fir trees.
This new walling is hard foam. It is durable, can be cut with a knife, and can be shaped with hot air or hot water.
This Cross-Country Ski Trail (N66832) uses Micro-Motion technology to move the skiers around the track.
Noch also had a fantastic demo station where people could get a hands-on experience of their products.
This HO locomotive from Piko is the very common Taurus, in the livery of the low-cost German rail travel company Flixtrain (PK57924).
New G Scale items include two wagons decorated with WW2 Aircraft (PK38902, PK38910).
On show was a pre-production sample of the new J26 Steam Locomotive, due out later this year.
The new Z21 XL Series controller has an increased output from the normal Z21 to 6amps, meaning that you can run O Scale, Gauge 1, and G Scale with this popular control system.
Roco also had on show a working version of the new EDK750 Diesel Railway Crane (RC73035/36), which can even be controlled using a Playstation-style controller via the Z21.
